I’m Madison (she/her), hi! I’m a book lover and occasional writer from Southern California.
Growing up in the desert there wasn’t much to do but read. Stories that let me escape to some far-off place were the best way to spend my time.
Now I work as a librarian (still in SoCal for now), I have a bookstagram account (@anxious.librarian on Instagram), and now I have this blog!
Here you’ll find: reviews & reflections, interviews, librarian things, bookish news, & ✨more✨
I want this to be a place that celebrates LGBTQ+ and other diverse lit. To highlight stories of all kinds! Diverse literature is so important to me, finding and promoting these authors is something I’m passionate about.
If it’s related to books or storytelling I want to talk about it! Just so you’re aware this may include video games and other forms of storytelling as well. Because no matter what format it comes in, a story is a story. My goal is always to introduce people to new things, and that means new formats to enjoy these stories in.
A little about me
I’m neurodivergent. I love animals but my allergies do not. I am that person who always wants to go on a historic or ghost tour when I visit a new place. I’ve been told I write too much and speak too little (this about me section should be evidence of that). I like to read a lot of MM romances.* I will sometimes rant to myself about the MCU when I can’t sleep at night.
My attention span is not great which means I am very much a mood reader. A story has to provide me with the promise of something amazing to hold my attention. Length, oddly enough, usually doesn’t matter much. Heck, I’ve overlooked shorter stories in favor of longer ones. It all depends on my mood.
If you’re interested in the sort of books I prefer, head over to my Review Policy.
That’s it!
That’s enough about me for now. I hope you stick around, whether that’s saying hi once a week or popping in every couple of months – no problem there, I tend to do the same thing.
If you’re looking for any other information on how I conduct my reviews or how to contact me about a review you can find my Review Policy under the About tab.
Happy Reading!
*we don’t fetishize here but if you don’t like that I read these then I don’t think this is the blog for you.
